The Country of Kyrgyzstan
My name is Josie and I'm 10 years old. I was adopted from Kyrgyzstan when I was 6 months old. You might not ever have heard of Kyrgyzstan. Kyrgyzstan is a small country in Central Asia. It's only about 77,000 squares miles. It has a population of about 6 million people. it used to be part of the Soviet Union but became an independent country in 1991. It is a beautiful country full of mountains and lakes. The capital is Bishkek and I'm from a small town right outside of the capital called Tokmok.
My mom and I have decided to take a trip back to Kyrgyzstan so I can see the country where I was born. It takes a looong time to get there...almost 28 hours of travel. First we are flying to Toronto and then to Istanbul and finally Kyrgyzstan. I am very excited to see where I was born and can't wait to see the orphanage where I lived. I'm also nervous because of the long airplane rides and they speak a different language (Russian and Kyrgyz). I'm not sure what to expect but I can't wait!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to try to post for a 3rd time! Josie, I hope you have wonderful adventures on your trip! I'm so glad your mom and dad came over and got you and brought you back home to Kentucky to be my niece. Tell us all about the food, the weather, the smells, the people (boys!). Don't be too shy to talk to people and ask questions even if you think they are stupid ones. Those people won't mind and you won't have to see them again if you get embarrassed. Tell us EVERYTHING! Love you sweetie! Aunt Sally
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you and your mother get to experience this amazing adventure together. How special! Enjoy and safe travels.
